Completed in 1802, Fort George was an imposing British headquarters that stood guard over transportation on the Niagara River. Although captured and destroyed by American troops during the Battle of Fort George, the American forces were eventually repelled and the site returned to British control. Today you can explore a reconstruction of the fort and experience what life was like for soldiers during this tumultuous time.
