The Blue Flag is an internationally recognized and respected award for beaches that achieve high standards in water quality, environmental management, environmental education, and safety and service. The City of Toronto is the first municipality in Canada awarded the Blue Flag for its efforts to manage its beaches according to international environmental standards.
